If you replace an old asset and saved to server, later another user pick the same asset to replace, assuming this asset has no missing data in the duplicate fields, then that user will get duplicate record error when trying to save to server. Because there is already another record the server with the same data in the duplicate fields.
However, if you replace an old asset with some missing data in the duplicate fields, e.g. no install date, then another user pick the same old asset to replace will not get duplicate record error when save to server. Because one duplicate field, i.e. install date, does not match any records currently in the server.
If you need to work on an old asset and someone else already did it, then the other user need to share those forms with you. Because if the replaced asset has no missing data in the duplicate fields then you cannot create the same record in the server. To get the shared forms, click Get Forms From Server.

Summary for Replace Partial
It depends which section to be replaced if it's the start or end section then the app will create 2 records/forms.
But if it's the middle section the app will create 3 records, 2 old and 1 new
The existing records won’t set to Ready for RAMM as user need to go back and validate existing data as it has not been replaced i.e. not replace whole.
For the railing form:
If replace from start to some where before the end, then Terminal End Starting Style for old section is NA, and Terminal End Ending Style for new section is NA.
If replace from some where after start to the end, then Terminal End Starting Style for new section is NA, and Terminal End Ending Style for old section is NA.
